Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will hold his first official office at Bangabhaban at 12:00 pm on Tuesday (July 28).
However, while he will carry out his official duties from the presidential palace, he will continue residing at the Speaker’s official residence.
The information was confirmed by BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan, who said the Acting President himself had stated that he would work from Bangabhaban while staying at the Speaker’s residence.
Earlier, from the afternoon of Friday (July 24), special security measures were put in place at the Speaker’s official residence within the Jatiya Sangsad complex and its surrounding areas as part of security arrangements for the Acting President.
Former President Mohammed Shahabuddin vacated Bangabhaban at 2:25 pm on Sunday (July 26), two days after resigning from office. He left the presidential residence for his private home, Green Villa, in Gulshan, Dhaka.
On Friday, Shahabuddin stepped down from the presidency citing health reasons. In accordance with the Constitution, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the responsibilities of Acting President.
