NBR transfers three customs commissioners

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has transferred three customs commissioners as part of a fresh reshuffle in its customs administration.

The changes were announced in two separate notifications issued by the NBR’s Customs and VAT Administration-1 branch on Monday (August 31).

Under the orders, Dr Nahida Faridi, commissioner of the Customs Valuation and Internal Audit Commissionerate in Dhaka, has been transferred to the Customs Bond Commissionerate, Dhaka (North).

Dr Abu Nur Rashed Ahmed, commissioner of Customs House, Mongla, has been posted to the Customs Valuation and Internal Audit Commissionerate in Dhaka.

Mia Md Abu Obaida, commissioner of the Customs Bond Commissionerate, Dhaka (North), has been transferred to Customs House, Mongla.

The NBR has also assigned additional responsibilities to three deputy commissioners at key customs offices.

A deputy commissioner of the Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Jashore, has been given additional charge of Customs House, Mongla. Md Bayzid Hossain, deputy commissioner of Customs House, Benapole, has been given additional charge of Customs House, Bhomra, while Ahmedur Reza Chowdhury, deputy commissioner of Customs House, Chattogram, has been given additional charge of the Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Cox’s Bazar.

The notifications said the transfers and postings were made in the public interest and would take immediate effect.

The officials concerned have been instructed to hand over their existing responsibilities and join their new posts promptly.
