Female teacher run over by buses in Banasree

A teacher of Milestone School and College was killed after falling from a moving motorcycle and being crushed by two buses in the capital’s Banasree area on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Taspia Ahmed Tisha, 31, a teacher at the Aftabnagar branch of Milestone School and College.

The accident occurred in front of Farazi Hospital in Banasree around Wednesday evening.

According to police, Taspia fell onto the road from a moving motorcycle and was run over by a Ramzan Paribahan bus and another bus. She died on the spot.

Khilgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector Anoy Chandra Pal said police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College morgue around 9pm for autopsy following legal procedures.

Police seized both buses, including the Ramzan Paribahan vehicle, and detained their drivers and helpers, the officer said.

Taspia lived in Meradia Noapara in Khilgaon. Her family home is in Professor Para of Chandpur Sadar upazila.
