DHAKA, Oct 11: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold a meeting of its parliamentary party at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 6pm today, Sunday, at the initiative of Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman.
The meeting will take place in the ruling party’s meeting room, although the date for the next parliamentary session has yet to be finalised.
Party sources said the meeting may discuss the country’s overall political situation, law and order, allegations of irregularities and extortion involving party leaders and activists, constitutional amendments and the upcoming local government elections.
The meeting is also expected to focus on maintaining party discipline and providing guidelines to lawmakers on current political and organisational challenges.
The meeting has been called outside the party’s regular parliamentary schedule. The next parliamentary session may begin in the second week of November, according to reports.
