Bangladesh were thrashed 7-1 by China in the men’s hockey classification match at the 20th Asian Games today, ending their hopes of finishing fifth or sixth.
China dominated the match from the start, scoring at regular intervals at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan.
Rakibul Hasan scored Bangladesh’s lone goal with a field goal in the 30th minute, but China maintained control to secure a comfortable victory.
Bangladesh will now face Thailand in the seventh-eighth place playoff on October 3. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30am Bangladesh time.
