Three Killed, 20 injured as bus plunges into ditch in Gopalganj

Three people were killed and 20 others injured after a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred around 11am in the Gerakhola area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway. The identities of the deceased could not be immediately confirmed.

According to police and local residents, a Tungipara Express bus was travelling from Khulna to Dhaka with passengers when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The bus then fell into a ditch beside the highway.

Three passengers died at the scene, while at least 20 others were injured.

Fire Service personnel, assisted by local residents, launched a rescue operation after receiving information about the accident.

Muksudpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the incident.
