The government has appointed 611 candidates to the Bangladesh Civil Service (General Education) cadre through the 49th Special BCS examination.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Wednesday, September 30, following recommendations from the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
The appointees have been recruited to entry-level posts in the General Education cadre under the 2026 National Pay Scale, with a salary range of Tk 44,000 to Tk 105,900.
According to the appointment order, the candidates must join their designated offices under the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education by October 12.
Failure to join by the deadline will result in their appointment being considered cancelled.
The newly appointed officials will serve a two-year probationary period, which may be extended by another two years if necessary.
Earlier, the final results of the 49th Special BCS were published in November 2025, with 668 candidates initially nominated for appointment against 683 vacant posts.
