Police have placed all districts and police ranges across Bangladesh on high alert amid fears of possible bomb attacks, based on information received through intelligence sources.
Police Headquarters issued the alert on Friday night, directing officers deployed across the country to remain extremely vigilant while performing their duties.
According to police sources, officers assigned to night patrols, mobile duty and checkpoints have been instructed to exercise heightened caution in view of the reported threat.
The authorities have also ordered police personnel to immediately inform senior law-enforcement officials of any suspicious incident or unusual activity encountered during duty.
The alert has already been communicated nationwide through radio messages, while heads of different police units have also been informed through messages, according to Police Headquarters.
The latest alert comes amid heightened security concerns in the country, with police urging personnel to maintain maximum vigilance to prevent any possible incident.
