The ongoing blockade on the Sajek tourist road in Rangamati will be relaxed for one day on Sunday (November 1), before resuming on Monday, the protesting organisations have announced.
The Sajek Public Rights Protection Committee and Sajek Karbari Association said the decision was taken to allow local residents to meet their basic needs, including collecting food supplies and transporting agricultural produce.
Vehicle movement will remain normal from 6am to 6pm on Sunday. The indefinite blockade will resume after the relaxation period ends.
The blockade, which began on October 22, has disrupted road communication with Sajek, affecting local residents, tourists and businesses.
