Storms likely in 14 districts by tonight

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast gusty winds of 45–60 kilometres per hour in 14 districts by tonight. Rain or thundershowers are also likely in the areas.

The forecast was issued in a warning for the country’s inland river ports, valid until 1am on Friday (October 30).

According to the warning, gusty winds from the south or southeast, reaching 45–60 kmph, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may sweep over Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal and Patuakhali.

The warning, effective from 2pm to 1am, asked river ports in these areas to hoist local warning signal No. 1.
