A Bangladeshi worker was killed in a landslide in Malaysia’s Kelantan state, with his body recovered after two days of search efforts aided by a tracker dog.
The deceased was identified as Md Fahad Hossain, 27. Police did not immediately disclose further details about his identity.
The landslide occurred on Friday at a vegetable farm in the Lojing Highlands in Kelantan, according to Malaysian newspaper New Straits Times.
After a two-day search operation, firefighters recovered Fahad’s body from beneath the debris on Sunday.
Quoting Gua Musang police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, the newspaper reported that a tracker dog named Frankie from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department’s K-9 unit located the body around noon.
Rescuers subsequently recovered the body from beneath the mound of soil.
The second day of the search operation began in the morning, involving 20 firefighters, three tracker dogs and an excavator.
