Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Kishoreganj on Sunday (August 16), reaching Pakundia around 11:25am.
Since early morning, party leaders and activists, supporters and local residents had gathered along roads in different parts of Pakundia to catch a glimpse of the prime minister.
The prime minister is scheduled to release juvenile fish into the Brahmaputra River in the Mirzapur area of Pakundia around 11:30am. Extensive preparations have been made for the programme.
The prime minister’s visit has created a festive atmosphere in the area, while law enforcement agencies have been deployed and placed on heightened alert.
